May, 2009 - Arizona State Court of Appeals Overturns Injunction to Protect Services for Individuals with Disabilities See this article on the Arizona Autism Coalition News page. In a decision this month, the Arizona State Court of Appeals ruled that nothing in state law bars the Department of Economic Security/Department of Developmental Disabilities from reducing services, overturning a trial-court ruling blocking cuts made in response to a legislative order to trim spending. This finding would allow Arizona to cut services to an estimated 30,000 residents with developmental disabilities. The Arizona Association of Providers for People with Disabilities (AAPPD), will work to appeal this decision in the Arizona State Supreme Court.
