THANK YOU TO VOLUNTEERS!!!!!!!

Many of our volunteers have given very generously in May/June of their time and talents to New Horizons Un-Limited. We would like to thank all of you for your support!!!

Thank you to everyone who volunteered to make our 5th Annual New Horizons Un-Limited Benefit Golf Outing a huge success!!!! Thank you to our volunteers who worked so hard these past months to plan this fundraising event, to those who greeted the golfers, set up our golfer registration, putting contest, silent auction, raffle and to those who photographed this event. Just over 100 golfers had a fun-filled, beautiful summer day at the Hawk’s View Golf course. It is not too early to start now to speak to family and friends about next year’s NHU Golf Outing. Consider the golfers in your life and let us know that we may include them in the next year’s mailing.

Thank you to all our generous golf outing sponsors and donors! Please see this year's NHU Golf Outing Program at http://www.new-horizons.org/08glfp.pdf . To learn how you or your company can participate next year,
please send e-mail to: horizons@new-horizons.org.

Thank you to our Access Technology volunteers who worked very hard to refurbish, clean and distribute 20 used computers to individuals and community organizations. We’ve improved our computer training program and offer assessment and training in computer usage and spyware. We developed a helpdesk platform for all computer grant recipients. We continue to seek volunteers for refurbishing and our helpdesk.

Thank you to Office and Clerical Volunteers who worked on special mailings, set up computers, and put packets together for the golfers for the June NHU Benefit Golf Outing. Our office and clerical volunteers are much appreciated!

A very special thank you to our volunteer, Pragnya, who spent much time and effort to develop a new New Horizons Un-Limited Outreach Video and a video for our golf outing. Our Outreach Video will also be available next month on our website.

Thank you to NHU Research Assistant Volunteers who researched and evaluated many helpful website resources on Parkinson Disease, Learning Disabilities, Vestibular Disorders, Caregiver Support, Service Animals, Employment and Housing for people with disabilities. Volunteer to research information on specific resources for people with disabilities! Check out the most recent additions at http://www.new-horizons.org/wnucat.html .

Thank you to volunteers who assisted with postings on our NHU Community Forum on Summer Events and the U.S. Government Accountability Office on our website on the Internet. Check out the most recent posts on our NHU Community Forum at http://www.new-horizons.org/board/ .

6th Annual

Flower Bulb Fundraiser

Our bulbs will not only bring beauty to your home, but opportunity and hope to hundreds of individuals with disabilities

in Southeastern Wisconsin.

VanBourgondien, our fundraiser partner, delivers the most brilliant spring-blooming flower bulbs around! Our satisfied “customers” come back year after year to order these magnificent bulbs.

Our 6th annual Flower Bulb Fundraiser offers a terrific assortment of Tulips, Daffodils, Alliums, Lilies and more! Each package of quality bulbs costs just $10, with 50% of sales going to New Horizons Un-Limited.

Help us make this year’s sale the best ever! Contact the gardeners in your life, your friends, family and neighbors and ask them if they have a spot or two in their gardens for flowers that will not only bring beauty for years to come but also support programs for our community members with disabilities. As a volunteer for NHU, would you be willing to sponsor sales in your neighborhood or apartment complex? Contact us for a neighborhood bulb sellers kit. To view or request the full color brochure, please e-mail us at horizons@new-horizons.org or download the packet from our website at www.new-horizons.org/08bulb.pdf. (Available mid-July) Order before mid September 2008, to ensure time for planting.

Purchase Scrip Gift Certificates from NHU

Thank you to everyone who purchased scrip certificates in May! The easiest way to raise money is where supporters raise funds with money they would spend on themselves anyway. Are you planning summer purchases? Ace Hardware, Home Depot, or Sears are available. Scrip orders are due Thursday, July 17, 2008.
