New Horizons Un-Limited Inc.National Newsline for the Blind Network, a service of the National Federation of the Blind, allows people who are blind the access to newspapers through the use of their telephones. For participating newspapers and an application, contact the website or write the National Federation of the Blind or contact your local Federation for the Blind office. Fill out the application and return it to the National Federation of the Blind, 1800 Johnson Street, Baltimore, Maryland, 21230. Allow them two weeks to process your registration. You will be issued an identification number and a security code. You can obtain a local access number for the Newsline for the Blind by using the automated menu when you call (410) 659-9314. #3 will give you an option of two lists: one by city and one by state. Quest Magazine is a publication of the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). This bimonthly national magazine contains news and features on all aspects of living with a neuromuscular disease, along with updates on the latest findings in the field. Featured articles can be found online.
Silent News is a subscription newspaper that "was established exclusively for the purpose of improving the educational, literacy, employment, and social conditions of Deaf and Hard of Hearing people" throughout the world. Silent News offers between 40 and 50 pages of diversified news covering world, national and community events, arts, sports and health issues.
Interfaith is an organization for older adults that offers the quarterly newsletter, Interfaith Quarterly. The newsletter provides information on events, health services, and programs. RSVP Response is another newsletter quarterly newsletter offered by Interfaith that pertains to issues surrounding the retired seniors and volunteer program.
