Determination has a mission to "change the nature of the support and service system for individuals with disabilities, using the principles of self-determination to help all persons create the lives they want, connected to and with their communities." The center offers assistance to both individuals

Oregon
Center on Self-Determination, a program of the Oregon Institute on Disability and Development at the Oregon Health Sciences University has developed a number of projects in an effort to support the self-determination of people with disabilities. Projects address such issues as youth leadership, career planning, the development of self-determination skills, the development of problem-solving skills, transition planning and many others.
