New Horizons Un-Limited Inc.
August 2009 - UNITED CEREBRAL PALSY of SOUTH CAROLINA CONTINUES TO EXPANDUCP of South Carolina has purchased and rented several new homes to respond to continual requests for service provision by individuals and/or families. They are exceedingly proud of the confidence and trust people have placed in UCP and will always strive to earn their continued respect. Opening these homes will bring their total home count to 16. One of the new homes was purchased by a grant from the South Carolina Housing Trust Fund & the South Carolina Department of Disabilities & Special Needs (DDSN). They are so delighted with the opportunity to work with the SC Housing Trust Fund and DDSN on this project and hope to be able to access this resource down the road! In addition, they have 14 individuals enjoying their independence in their own apartments through their supported living program! They would also like to anounce that UCP of South Carolina recently contracted with the South Carolina Department of Disabilities & Special Needs to provide the following new services: respite, supported employment, prevocational companion, foster home and in-home personal care supports. For more information about these programs, visit their website at the link above.
