July 2004 - Minnesota - Disability Linkage Line, your source for disability information

The Minnesota Department of Human Services has recently launched a new, free, statewide information, referral and assistance service called Disability Linkage Line. This line, staffed by qualified resource specialists, provides one-on-one, personalized, assistance to help people with disabilities and chronic illnesses locate and access support services available in their communities. You may contact this line toll-free at (866) 333-2466. If you prefer to search for resources on-line, Disability Linkage Line is also available on-line via the statewide resource database found at www.MinnesotaHelp.info.


March 2004 - Minnesota - Transition brochure available to students with disabilities

Metropolitan Center for Independent Living (MCIL), in an effort to assist students with disabilities transition into adulthood, has developed a brochure that details the transition process. The 2-page brochure, called Build Your Life, Make a Plan, offers the Top 10 [Priorities] List, a listing of Helpful Resources in Minnesota, information on Life After High School, a definition of Home Living, information on Community Training and Education, information on Employment and Job Training, and more. Access for All, a local non-profit organization has published the very first Minnesota Travel Guide for Persons with Disabilities. This guide supplies in-depth accessibility information for, Resorts, Lodging, Restaurants, Attractions, Historic Sites, Nightclubs and Bars, Amusement Parks, Dialysis Centers, Arts / Theatre Venues, Convention Centers, Transportation and Parks and Campgrounds. To ensure your next Minnesota vacation is accessible, pick up your free Travel Guide at the Metropolitan Center for Independent Living (MCIL) in St. Paul.
