Housing

One of the most frustrating decisions faced by most disabled persons or family members is locating appropriate Housing once they reach adulthood. Unfortunately, most of us do not search for something until we are in need. You should consider that finding appropriate housing requires long range planning. The demand for housing has continued to grow at such a rapid pace that most apartments have waiting lists that span anywhere from 6 months to more than 1 year. Even more frustrating is the fact that the wait for funding assistance can be several years longer. Therefore, it is important to begin your search early enough to find the most appropriate and cost effective housing. Remember that searching for housing does not mean simply locating a place to reside. It also involves securing the financial means, and in some situations, locating resources for care, daily assistance and transportation.
