January 2003 - Manchester, New Hampshire - "Financing with Finesse" can lead you toward financial empowerment

Project Dollars and Sense in partnership with A Way to Better Living, has developed a new program called Financing with Finesse (FWF). This program is a "grassroots group composed of persons with disabilities who have come together to identify the financial problems facing them and address them by organizing and effecting systems change." Through strategic partnerships, FWF hopes to provide: affordable and accessible financial services; basic financial training; benefits counseling; and access to consumer credit and small loans. They are focusing on recruiting the participation of very low-income individuals with disabilities who receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and/or Supplemental Security Disability Income (SSDI).
