April 2002 - Massachusetts - Association of Blind Citizens establishes Assistive Technology Fund

Association of Blind Citizens (ABC) has announced the establishment of their Assistive Technology Fund (ATF), which will provide grant funds to people who are legally blind so that they may purchase assistive technology that will increase their prospects of employment. Individual grants will cover up to 50% of the equipment cost, not to exceed $3000. Eligible applicants must have a family income of less than $50,000 and cash assets of less than $20,000. Applications must be submitted by June 30, September 30 and December 31 for each grant period (three per year). Applications are now being accepted via the ABC website.
