New Sign January 29-31, 2010 - Tempe, Arizona - Different From What? film festival celebrates people with disabilities

The Different From What? Film Festival, scheduled for the last weekend of January, Friday the 29th through Sunday the 31st at Madcap Theatres, 730 South Mill Ave in Tempe, Arizona, will feature films from across the country that focus on the abilities of people with disabilities. The festival is designed "to engage the greater community in tough conversations about how our culture and community view disabilities and people who have them by bringing them together across a shared interest: film...It begins a conversation about moving past old ways of thinking about abilities, gifts, and talents. And it begins a new chapter in the story Arizona will tell about its place in transforming the lives of people "with disabilities". April 2009 - Arizona - ABIL Community Calendar

For a complete listing of events, workshops, trainings, social and recreational activities, visit the Arizona Bridge Independent Living Center Events Calendar at the link above. You must RSVP for all events. Funding for Social and Recreational activities is provided (in part) by the Arizona Department of Economic Security. ABIL requests a $1+ donation (each way) for transportation provided on the ABIL van. Consumers must be 18 years+ or own legal guardian for ABIL van transportation. Reasonable accommodations, including Sign Language Interpreters and Personal Assistants, will be provided at ABIL events upon request.


February, 2009 - Phoenix, Arizona - Arizona Disabilities Expo

The 2009 Disabilities Expo was a huge success and plans are being made for the 2010 Disabilities Expo.
