March of Dimes International Conference on Post Polio Syndrome - Identifying Best Practices in Diagnosis and Care article identifies some strategies for care for post polio syndrome.

North Central Florida Post Polio Support Group has a mission to inform and educate polio survivors, families, friends, physicians, therapists and suppliers about post polio syndrome (PPS). They are a not-for-profit support group reaching out to well over 800 survivors of polio within a 100-mile radius of Ocala, Florida. Louisiana

Post Polio Syndrome Resources of Louisiana offers a very informative website which features general Post Polio information, basic information on disability laws, various personal writings, profiles of people living with Post Polio and more.


Michigan

New Sign University of Michigan Health Organization Post-Polio Syndrome has an article on post polio syndrome, with symptoms, exams and tests , treatment overview, home treatment and other places to get help, and resources. This also offers home treatment and other resources to get help.

New Sign Michigan Post Polio Syndrome resources is a locator and lists doctors, clinics and support groups and organizations from across the state of Michigan. Find the support group nearest you. For example, they list the Mid Michigan Post-Polio Support Group is located in Harrison, MI, call 517-539-3781, or send e-mail to hnjutzi@ejourney.com. They meet the Second Sunday PM, Apr, May, Jun, Nov, and Dec.

New Sign Bay Cliff Health Camp Post Polio Wellness Retreat Big Bay Michigan, Christy Osborn, Program Coordinator. Bay Cliff provides a week-long recreational camp for adults with physical disabilities—Camp Independence. Bay Cliff cherishes its history and as renovations and winterization of the facility continues for the future, additional programs are being developed. Bay Cliff is excited to once again offer The Post Polio Wellness Retreat to help the “kids” that we served in the 1940’s & 1950’s, and their peers, lead a fuller life.
