May 2003 - Do you have "outdated" computers lying around?!

If you have an "old" computer that's been collecting dust - we can revive it and put it to good use in our local community. All donated equipment will either be used for the training of people with disabilities or will be given directly to people with disabilities for their personal home use. A practical solution to a growing need!

We are now accepting donations of gently-used Pentium I and higher PC (Windows) workstations. Eliminate waste while opening a world of opportunity to people with lifelong disabilities.

Contact us today via e-mail at horizons@new-horizons.org or via phone at 414.299.0124 to learn more!

April 2003 - First NHU Raffle for Opportunity and Silent Auction a Huge Success

Thank you to all of the individuals, businesses and organizations that kindly donated items for use in our raffle and silent auction. A special thank you to all of our volunteers - without you this event would not have been possible. Our first raffle and silent auction was a great success, raising nearly $3500 for our community initiatives. There are no words to express our appreciation!

Please visit our Raffle and Silent Auction Donor Page and join us in thanking them for their generosity and support.

    Spring 2003 - NHU Review a Resource

We are in the process of developing several resource areas on our site which we hope to provide to the people with disabilities, their families, friends, and caregivers.

In order that we may provide the most comprehensive list and reviews from people who are familiar with a resource, we need your input and expertise. If you have information on resources that have been of benefit to you, we want to hear from you. Please share your expertise so that we may all learn from your experiences. If we each give a little and take a little, the collective sharing of knowledge would make a significant difference for all of us.

To share a resource, please see our Review a Resource page on our site. This spring we are seeking information on disability magazines. Do you have a favorite magazine? Please share it with others!
